Expect community and cultural activities and events hosting in the indoor project space and outdoor spaces of Alice Billing House, Stratford.
Since spring 2024, we’ve hosted several workshops for Newham communities ranging from including basket, apron and zine making to a movement workshop. Find out more about these events on our blog and sign up below to be kept updated on future events.
SPECULATIVE REMEMORY // AUDIO & VISUAL // DJS
Join us at Grow in Hackney Wick for an evening exploring experimental project - Speculative ReMemory - which includes audio and visual work made as part of an engagement project at Alice Billing House in Stratford.
These cumulative creative contributions have emerged from a network of artists and local communities, and draws upon non-traditional methodologies, indigenous practices of storytelling and the collation of stories to create a body of work that utilises experimental formats of archival and artistic outcomes. Rooted in feminist and anti-colonial epistemologies, the intention has been to unearth the rhizomatic connective tissues between past, present and future.
Expect excerpts from the digital archive, physical representations and a chance to meet artists involved in the project.
The archive project is led by artist and programme facilitator, Sandra Falase, part of an engagement programme run by Grow Studios at Alice Billing House in Stratford, supported by the Creative Land Trust and Heritage Lottery Fund.
Willow Wreath-Making Workshop

This somatic workshop will explore how our identities can displace us from our local surroundings and communities and how we can create tools of resistance that help us transmute that loss and grief.
